Grand Cru Griotte-Chambertin

Burgundy

Griotte-Chambertin is an elite, 2.69-hectare vineyard in Gevrey-Chambertin, ranking among the smallest and most exclusive Grand Crus in the Côte d’Or. Located on a northeast-facing slope, its unique orientation ensures a slower ripening process by limiting morning sun exposure. The terroir—characterized by pebble-rich, chalky topsoil over deep limestone—produces a distinct style of Pinot Noir. Unlike the powerhouse wines typically associated with the village, Griotte is celebrated for its delicate, elegant profile and a highly perfumed, floral aromatic intensity that sets it apart from the typical muscularity of Gevrey-Chambertin. Its terroir-driven structure is influenced by a gradual increase in clay content as the slope descends, which adds a subtle depth to its hallmark finesse.
