The International Debut: Auteur Burgundy
Burgundy
The Auteur Burgundy Project represents a bridge between two worlds, offering a global collection of expressive, terroir-driven winemaking. This initiative explores the architectural tension and mineral profiles shared between the coastal vineyards of California and the storied crus of France. The project focuses on cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, sourcing rare allocations from some of Burgundy’s most prestigious appellations. Our current and upcoming releases showcase the breadth of this collection, including Gevrey-Chambertin featuring the 2023 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru, as well as Vougeot, Meursault, and Saint-Aubin featured in the 2024 vintage. Ahead, the 2025 release will expand to include selections from Corton, Corton-Charlemagne, and Chassagne-Montrachet. From Curation to Estate. What began as a meticulously curated selection of wines purchased in barrel has evolved into a deeper hands-on commitment. The 2023 and 2024 vintages were defined by exclusive barrel selections. Starting with the 2025 harvest, the project shifts to full estate production in Meursault. This new chapter is a partnership between Kenneth Juhasz and 4th generation Burgundian winemaker, Pierre-Henri Rougeot. These wines are not merely imports; they are intentional and offer a lens into two worlds. By placing a Meursault or a Gevrey-Chambertin alongside Auteur’s Sonoma and Mendocino coastal selections, the project highlights a consistent winemaking philosophy that prioritizes tension, site-specificity, and a our outlier spirit.
