Griotte-Chambertin
One of Gevrey-Chambertin's smallest and most coveted Grand Crus — a mere 2.7 hectares wedged between Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin. Unlike every other Grand Cru in the commune, Griotte faces slightly northeast rather than east or southeast, giving the vines less morning sun and a slower, more deliberate ripening — the geological secret behind its signature refinement. In a village celebrated for muscular , iron-fisted Pinot Noir , Griotte stands apart: perfumed, precise, and beguilingly elegant. Our 2023 shows silky, precise tannins framing dark cherry, violet, and a whisper of spice — a result of a generous growing season that culminated in a late-summer heat spike to perfect the ripeness of the Pinot Noir. A wine of extraordinary finesse and aging potential from vines rooted in the most hallowed soils in Burgundy.
