Starkey Vineyard

Sebastopol Hills

Tucked within the apple orchards and farmstands of the Sebastopol Hills, Starkey Vineyard is one of Auteur's most distinctly coastal expressions of Pinot Noir. Farmed by Arturo Robledo across 11 acres of Goldridge soil, this 1995-planted site sits in a "coastal cool" pocket defined by persistent morning fog, lower daily temperatures, and the powerful afternoon winds sweeping in from the nearby Petaluma Gap. The result is a wine of remarkable tension and depth — the 2022 vintage opens with sappy kirsch, sun-ripened fig, and rose petal, giving way to black raspberry, pomegranate molasses, leather, and star anise in a structure that is at once plush and precise.
