Vougeot

Tucked just outside the famous stone wall of the Clos de Vougeot, Les Cras sits on the lower-

slope clay-dominant soils of the Vougeot commune — one of only four Premier Crus in an

appellation almost entirely dominated by its Grand Cru neighbor . The name itself speaks to the

terroir: “cras” in old Burgundian dialect refers to rich, fat soils, and the wines reflect exactly

that — rounder , more immediately seductive, and more texturally generous than the iron-fisted

structure of the Grand Cru above. Where the Clos rewards decades of patience, Les Cras offers

a velvety, approachable power: dark cherry, violet, forest floor , and a supple mid-palate weight

that makes it one of Burgundy’s most compelling Premier Crus. Our 2025 offers deep garnet

color , layered dark fruit, earthy woodland notes, and a plush tannic backbone with the balance

and concentration to evolve beautifully over the next 10–15 years.
